Read MoreManual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is a gentle massage that encourages the movement of lymphatic fluid and elimination of metabolic waste. Stimulation of the lymphatic system through MLD improves health and immune function, promotes general wellbeing, and assists with a range of lymphatic conditions such as; sinusitis, swelling after surgery, lymphoedema, lipoedema, fibromyalgia, and sports recovery.
Scar Tissue Release Therapy is a gentle and effective technique used to decrease discomfort, adhesions, or congestion of scar tissue that impacts the fascia. Fascia is that ‘Glad wrap’ looking tissue that binds, connects and holds the individual components of the body together.
Your treatment will combine manual therapies such as myofascial hold techniques, stretch and lift and cupping to release the fascial restrictions. You may feel such sensations as a slight tugging or pressure as the scar tissue is released. Your therapist will communicate with you throughout your session to ensure that you are comfortable.
At times during pregnancy, it is not unusual to be carrying excess fluid. If this is not the result of any pregnancy complications, manual lymphatic drainage can be used to help relieve discomfort of swollen legs and feet. We may also suggest using medical compression stockings for tired, swollen legs where appropriate.
Pregnancy can be both emotionally fulfilling and demanding, and this specially designed massage sequence can relieve tension and discomfort, enabling you to feel calm, nurtured, and relaxed. This pregnancy massage may also help headaches, and aching legs and feet.
Compression stocking may also be advisable to prevent varicose veins and aching legs.
At times it may be difficult for you to attend our clinic. We offer a mobile service to your home or nursing home where we can provide lymphatic massage or compression therapy. We can also demonstrate practical ways that family members may be involved if they choose. A doctor’s clearance is necessary, so ask us for a referral form to provide to your doctor.
